Package: src:nix

Severity: serious

Dear maintainer:

The new nix release contains this in the build log:

warning: error: unable to download 'https://cache.nixos.org/nix-cache-info':
Could not resolve hostname (6); retrying in 345 ms
warning: error: unable to download 'https://cache.nixos.org/nix-cache-info':

See:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=nix&arch=all&ver=2.24.9%2Bdfsg-1&stamp=1728680246&raw=0

When not using the unshare backend, the message is slightly different:

warning: unable to download 'https://cache.nixos.org/nix-cache-info': Problem
with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?) (77)

Trying to access Internet (with or without success) is not allowed by policy,
even if it
does not make the package to FTBFS.

Note: In this case, the attempt does not make the build to fail. Maybe it might
be worth to
configure the package so that these kind of attempts are fatal, then the
problem would
be caught earlier.

Thanks.
