Just to confirm, I upgraded my Debian sid system, and on reboot the system repeats this message in a loop:
cryptsetup: Waiting for encrypted source device UUID=(long UUID)...Fortunately GRUB allows one to boot the previous pair of kernel/initrd, so that I can write this message.
