That sounds sensible, but it would be better if it was stated clearly,

The eps files are created by The Gimp, the jpeg files by XV - so there
is probably a common format used for creation and/or modification.  I
have no idea what XV is.  And some are only available as jpg; I do not
think that this is the preferred form for modification.  Furthermore, at
least for the logo of the TU Berlin I would be surprised if it was
copyright by Till Tantau; a photograph of a Mac everybody can take (but
even there it might be from Apple).

Well, I filed the bugs against pgf and latex-beamer because I thought
that we have enough license stuff to do on our own package.  But since
there's been no reaction by the maintainer, we're probably better off if
we ask him ourselves.  I'll see if I can do that soon.
