but the new xine-ui fails to start on my system (sid, i386) with the
following message:

Running strace on xine did kill my xsession. When loggin in again, the
bug did not occure anymore. I think, it must have been a temporary error
caused by the fact, that xorg got an update in the last few days and I
didn't restart the xserver...
