Hi Soren, thanks for your report. First of all, I adjusted the severity of the report because the package is installable in a clean testing/unstable environment, and we are not going to support upgrade from plone-site (based on zope2.8) and the actual version of plone-site because the former wasn't included in sarge. Now, let's go ahead. > I am running Debian testing on i386. I just upgraded to plone-site 2.5-1 and > Zope 2.9. I was running the previous release on Plone on Zope 2.8. After > the upgrade Plone would not work on Zope 2.8 or Zope 2.9. There is no "Plone > Site" option in the "Select type to add..." dropdown box in the Zope > Management Interface. The only options related to Plone are "Plone Language > Tool" and "PlonePAS Tool". I backed up my data files, purged all Zope and > Plone packages, and reinstalled but had the same results. Everything starts with a Zope2.8 plone-site instance, then you upgrade plone-site which does: 1. upgrade all the zope-* packages to be compatible with Plone 2.5 2. install zope2.9 (because Plone 2.5 requires it) 3. create a new plone-site instance for zope2.9 4. leave untouched the old zope2.8-based plone-site instance. Yeah, I could remove the old zope2.8-based plone-instance but this would mean data-loss; an automatic migration between zope2.8 and zope2.9 is not supported, so there are no other solutions. > Please let me know if there is anything else I should try. Thanks for all > your hard work maintaining the plone packages. Could you please confirm me that you are looking at the zope2.9 instance? And, please, could you attach to your bug report the list of zope packages installed (something like `dpkg -l | grep zope` is enough).
