Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'jessie-elts'.
It installed fine in 'jessie-elts', then the upgrade to 'stretch-elts' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

See policy 7.6 at
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#overwriting-files-and-replacing-packages-replaces

The upload of a new upstream release (1:3.2.6a-2~deb8u1) of transfig to
jessie-elts (ELA-493-1) invalidated the versions in the existing
  Breaks+Replaces: transfig (<< 1:3.2.6~beta-1~)
in fig2dev (1:3.2.6a-2+deb9u4) in stretch, causing the above file overwrite
errors on
several jessie-elts -> stretch-elts upgrade tests.

Ideally the Breaks+Replaces against transfig in fig2dev
should be bumped to (<< 1:3.2.6a-2+deb9) in stretch-elts.

cheers,

Andreas

Since nothing seems to happen here from the stretch-elts front and I
agree with Markus, that nobody upgrades from jessie-elts to
stretch-elts but most lts/elts users tend to stay with jessie-elts
(or stretch-elts) until the server is finally shut down, I now close
this ticket (it really annoys me as the package maintainer, that there
seems to be a RC bug open...)

Greetings
Roland
