Needing to print a document today, I purged and reinstalled cupsys again. I was able to print two copies of my one three-page document. Now when I try to print a different, one-page document cupsd exits silently. I can restart it at the moment with /etc/init.d/cupsys restart, but printing the document causes it to exit again.
I just tested on another one-pager, and it also fails. Again, when I get the uninformative "Error while printing" message from oowriter, cupsd dies, but can be restarted. I also can't print a text file using lp. Same behavior. I'll repeat myself. Nothing should ever exit silently. Most certainly no system daemon should do so. -- Carl Fink [EMAIL PROTECTED] Read my blog at nitpickingblog.blogspot.com. Reviews! Observations!
