As previously discussed in #990259 and #990271 during 2021, cinnamon
depends on policykit-1-gnome, which the polkit maintainers do not intend
to release with trixie.
Alternatives include integrating with mate-polkit or lxde-polkit (please
talk to their maintainers if you do that), or integrating a polkit agent
into the Cinnamon desktop shell (which Cinnamon upstream does not seem
to want to do), or forking policykit-1-gnome under a suitable name and
becoming its upstream maintainer.
