It breaks the spyder-kernels autopkgtests on those architectures where it has not successfully built, and the new spyder depends on the new spyder-kernels, so spyder-kernels and spyder won't be able to migrate until pyzmq is fixed (unless the release team hint it through). Best wishes, Julian
