I tested the patch and built the package successfully also.
And if you approve of that patch I can NMU as well to save you the
effort. Or, alternatively, I'll just provide a Merge Request on Salsa.
To save from having to write a MR and since I have write access to the
debian-science package repos on salsa, I uploaded the changes with some other
minor packaging updates to https://salsa.debian.org/science-team/v-sim. I do
not have debian upload privileges however, so another person will have to
perform the upload.
