Package: videogen
Version: 0.32-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
I noticed today while dist-upgrading my etch box that X 7.0 was going to
get installed, and 3 packages were getting removed:
videogen, xfree86-common, xserver-common. Found it weird given the
dependencies of videogen, but thought about installing it back
afterwards and went on with the upgrade.
Now the big surprise, here's what happens when I try to install videogen
again:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# apt-get install videogen

The following NEW packages will be installed
videogen
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 399 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 27.2kB of archives.
After unpacking 1148MB disk space will be freed.
Put another way, it's about to remove mostly my entire system...
As I couldn't believe this and thought this had something to do with my
already a bit twisted setup, I went and checked on a clean etch ia64
box. Same bug.
I tested on another etch box which hasn't any X-related stuff installed,
and it installed fine.
