Source: python-lsp-server
Version: 1.5.0-1
Severity: serious

This package is incompatible with the currently released version of
spyder (5.3.1). As explained by upstream in
https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/issues/17550#issuecomment-1079828357
the releases of PyLSP and Spyder are performed by the same team and
are therefore coordinated. A new major or minor release of PyLSP is
usually performed a week or two before Spyder is released, but Spyder
will break in various ways if the wrong version of PyLSP is used. The
Debian unstable version of Spyder has been patched to use the newer
PyLSP version, but various failing tests had to be ignored to do so;
these failing tests indicate that Spyder 5.3.1 does not work correctly
with python-lsp-server 1.5.0-1. The soon-to-be-released Spyder 5.3.2
or 5.4.0 will work correctly.

I will close this bug report when the new version of Spyder has been
released and uploaded to unstable.

Best wishes,

   Julian

Hi!

I've now uploaded Spyder 5.3.2 and tested it with this package; all
seems to be working well, so I'm closing this bug.

Best wishes,

   Julian
