I took time to investigate, and I found that mv's behavior changed recently (see #376743), and I think that this FTBFS is due to the fact that there was and old version of coreutils installed on the buildd. This bug shouldn't appear if the package is built on an up-to-date sid chroot, and it's why I lower the severity of this bug, but I think that you should apply this patch to make it possible to build the package with an old version of coreutils.
