Package: debian-installer Severity: grave I tried the latest dailly snapshot of the etch debian-install cd. The installation went pretty smoothly, there was one major issue though: I setup a software raid (RAID1) with the following layout: md0 (sda1,sdb1) => swap md1 (sda2,sdb2) => / The hard disks are attached via SATA. grub is installed correctly, but groot in /boot/grub/menu.lst is set to (hd0,0), so update-grub generates a /boot/grub/menu.lst, where root is not correctly set leading to an unbootable system (this is the reason, why I set the severity to grave). I did not encounter this behaviour on a non-raid system, groot is then correctly set. So my guess is, that d-i (or is it grub?) does not correctly deal with /dev/md* devices.
