Hi Robert,

mtr fails to build from source, if compiled against glib2.0 >= v2.70, due to
usage of deprecated GTimeVal in gtk+2.0 headers (that's a dependency of mtr).

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

  * Fix FTBFS with glib >= 2.70 & deprecated definitions of GTimeVal in gtk+2.0

Thanks for considering the patch.

Cheers,
  Lukas

I think what you are seeing is actually #997194, the build failure you
pointed out mentions format string literal errors, not glib errors.

The issue with the gtk+2.0 headers should be filed against gtk+2.0,
but that is unmaintained. There is already wishlist bug #967647 about
depending on GTK2 instead of GTK3 or later. This is fixed upstream
already, a new upstream release is needed to fix this in Debian.

So I'm closing this bug report.
