Package: digikam
Version: 0.7.4-4
Severity: normal

Hi,

upgrading to the latest digikam today showed me a strange album
collections which missing album pictures and several broken
previews in the albums.

Looking at the console output I got the following:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ digikam
digikam: WARNING: KIPI::PluginLoader:: createInstanceFromLibrary
returned 0 for ImagePlugin_Core (digikamimageplugin_core) with error
number 3
digikam: WARNING: KLibLoader says: Bibliotheksdatei

digikam:
digikam: ERROR: : couldn't create slave : Aufruf des Ein/Ausgabe-Moduls
nicht möglich.
klauncher meldet: Fehler beim Laden von "kio_digikamthumbnail"

and so on ....

Installing libdigikam-dev fixes that and all albums have preview
images again and also no more console warnings are shown. So I assume digikam
needs some stuff from the -dev package and therefore should depend on it or at
least recommend it.

Regards,
Wolfgang

Version: 0.8.0-0beta1-1

Due to obscure reasons in the BTS, closing this in the right version
(0.7.4-5) won't do (it doesn't understand that the version currently in
unstable descends from 0.7.4-5), so I'm reclosing it in a slightly different
version.
