Dear Maintainer, pythia8 is unmaintained (see MIA bug #925039) and was left barely floating by NMUs since 2015. It has no reverse dependencies in Debian, beside hepmc, which is a circular dependency (and also a candidate for RM) It was never part of any Debian release. I therefore propose to RM the package, after rivet has been RMed. If you disagree, just close this bug, but please show the package some love. Especially, it is in need of an human maintainer (refering to Policy 5.6.3) If you agree, reassign the bug to ftp.debian.org If there is no answer, I will reassing the bug in exactly 3 months to ftp.debian.org to make the RM happen. -- tobi
