Can you double-check this/run a rebuild and see if it was a spurious issue? I'm not the maintainer, just a wandering passerby, but it seems dnssec-trigger's configure script builds and works just fine with Autoconf 2.71. I can't explain the error from your log with being unable to run config.sub, but it doesn't occur on my system and dnssec-trigger builds successfully.
