I'll try to keep the package updated in sid for supporting newer kernel versions as long as this is possible with reasonable effort. So only packaged Debian kernels in sid/experimental will be tested. And patches must not regress on any (ancient) Debian kernel where the module previously built.
Once Xorg bumps its ABI again the driver will only work with the older Xorg in (old)stable.
