Package: ifpgui
Version: 0.10.7-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi !

Perhaps I am wrong .... Trying to use the ifpgui package I become following
error message : Could not communicate with iRiver
device. Try to unplug the iRiver device ....

I did as recommanded, but it doesn't work ...

I read the doc, here I could need some precisions.

 1. My Iriver device is a iRiver H320 , does the package ifpgui work with
devices of the H300 series ?
If not , it could be the reason why

I tried it as a root user ...

I am running Debian Sid, I cannot find any package like pnp-common or
pmp-common.

 Regards

You are right. The H320 is not an iFP series device. The libifp
package, which ifpgui uses, does not support the H series of players.

Here is a discussion of it on the libifp/ifp-line mailing list:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=10418972&forum_id=18786

I am sorry not to have a happier answer for you. :(

I will add more information about the specific iRiver models supported
to the documentation of the ifpgui package. In the meantime, I'm going
to close this bug, as the description of the package already specificies
the package is "for iRiver's iFP flash audio player".

Thanks for your bug report,
-Jacob
