Yes. I have xfce4-screensaver (4.16) running on a Debian sid install and it still happens every once in a while that the desktop of the locked box appears (for example at resume). I'm still not confident it should actually be used on a production install it's just not robust enough, but I don't have the time or motivation to investigate and fix it myself.
