Dear Maintainer, I upgraded chromium on Debian stable (buster) from 83.0.4103.116-1~deb10u3 to 87.0.4280.141-0.1~deb10u1. After this upgrade chromium becomes completely unusable to me, which means, that the chromium window isn't rendered as expected. When I open a website or click on a link the web page doesn't show, also the tab title isn't updated, only the window title changes to the new page. Sometimes (if page is already in cache) it seems that the web page is shown, but usually not completely updated. But there is a trick to get the web page rendered: Switch to a different screen and back here and after this the browser window is rendered as expected. This at least works sometimes after freshly starting chromium and keeping it in foreground. If I once iconize and after this un-iconize the chromium windows, only the window border is alive, while everything else looks like I had sent a STOP signal to the browser process (for example by pressing Ctrl-Z in the shell without entering fg or bg afterwards), but it was not suspended, as you can see in the process list. I observe this strange behavior after the upgrade of chromium on two different machines (both amd64 buster, but with different home directories etc.) I usually use fvwm as window manager, but observe the same problem, if I start KDE plasma on one of the machines for testing purpose. The problem persists, but I'm not sure how to switch screens there to trigger the "workaround". A downgrade to 83.0.4103.116-1~deb10u3 solves the issue, upgrading to 87.0.4280.141-0.1~deb10u1 triggers it again. Using google-chrome-stable 87.0.4280.141-1 works without problems. Trying to remove ~/.config/chromium or ~/.cache/chromium doesn't solve the issue. No entries in dmesg output, while I observe the problems. No idea what's going wrong here. It's very astonishing, that I didn't find tons of bug reports about this. Am I the only one affected by this? But what makes my systems different?
