In order to agree that this bug should be closed, I need to understand how my configuration is incorrect. Could we try some experiments to see if this goes away?
My /etc/nsswitch.conf has the following: # /etc/nsswitch.conf # # Example configuration of GNU Name Service Switch functionality. # If you have the `glibc-doc' and `info' packages installed, try: # `info libc "Name Service Switch"' for information about this file. passwd: compat ldap group: compat ldap shadow: compat ldap hosts: files dns networks: files protocols: db files services: db files ethers: db files rpc: db files netgroup: nis Scott ----- Original Message ---- From: Debian Bug Tracking System <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Scott Anderson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, June 7, 2006 4:04:31 PM Subject: Bug#366172 closed by Stephen Frost <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (Not a bug) This is an automatic notification regarding your Bug report #366172: libnss-ldap: abort during useradd (ber_free_buf error), which was filed against the libnss-ldap package. In the end I expect this is a configuration problem though and if the user doesn't want system accounts in LDAP then they need to adjust their /etc/nsswitch.conf appropriately to handle it correctly.
