After looking at some other amarok bug reports, I removed the xine entries from 
amarokrc, but it still crashes in the same way, and the strace still shows it 
loading xine libraries.

Thanks for this verification, but it would be useful if you could try to 
reproduce with a newly-created user, so that we can better evaluate 
whether the severity you claim is appropriate or not.
