Dear Andreas,
bcalm is included in the kissplice sources as a git submodule. My
understanding at reading the source and talking with upstream is that
they will keep track with newer versions of bcalm but probably with a
little lag. I am not absolutely sure they use an out-of-the-box version
of bcalm either.
If it is an out-of-the-box version of bcalm, I suppose the best solution
would be to have kissplice depend on a specific version of bcalm and
bump that dependency when upstream upgrade the version of bcalm they
use. I'm just a little apprehensive regarding the potential discrepancy
in the version of bcalm: we could end up with the same version of
kissplice using different versions of bcalm depending on whether it was
installed from source or via the .deb. I'm pretty sure upstream wouldn't
want that...

Hi David,
thanks for working on this. I noticed that the solution was simply to
not provide usr/lib/kissplice/bcalm as symlink in /usr/bin any more.
For me the question remains: What is the relation of bcalm package to
kissplice bcalm and can we somehow use only one od these (potential)
duplicates.
Kind regards
Andreas.

Dear all,
I've made a merge request on that matter :
https://salsa.debian.org/med-team/kissplice/-/merge_requests/2
If one of you guys had time to check it out it would be great !
Thanks,
David

Dear Andreas,
I know I am usually not very involved and I'm sorry about that.
I am however exchanging e-mails with upstream regarding all these issues
right now, I will keep in touch
Best,
David

Possible solution:
* kissplice stops shipping /usr/bin/bcalm
* bcalm adds Breaks+Replaces: kissplice (<< 2.5.1-2~) (assuming the
fixing upload of kissplice is 2.5.1-2)
Seems since last version of kissplice it seems to include bcalm.
@Nilesh: Would you mind sorting out with upstream which bcalm
version is the one that will be actively supported? Or is it
just a code copy included into kissplice? We also should remove
the code copy of gatb-core and rather link against the Debian
packaged lib.
Kind regards
Andreas.
