Package: alsaplayer-common
Version: 0.99.76-7
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Many applications which use alsa can't play sound anymore and some can't even
start.
I don't know what is the exact guilty package, all I know is it's related to
alsa.

When I start alsaplayer, I get the following error :

Failed to load output plugin "alsa". Trying defaults.
/usr/lib/alsaplayer/output/libalsa_out.so: symbol
snd_pcm_hw_params_set_periods_near,
version ALSA_0.9.0rc4 not defined in file libasound.so.2 with link time
reference

My soundcard is an Intel AC97.

lspci says : Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM
(ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03)
