Thanks for the config but still not really reproducible. That said, I see where the error message comes from and the code there is probably not correct. If you wish to rebuild your package with the fix, get this patch https://salsa.debian.org/blade/apt-cacher-ng/-/commit/145e608a48c20ad2cd0d1a87ba63e3a9e32a62bc or checkout the branch https://salsa.debian.org/blade/apt-cacher-ng/-/tree/debian/sid_v3.3.x or alternative I will probably make a release anyway in the next days.
