The build dependency should be defined exactly: for stretch: debhelper (>= 9~) , libluajit-5.1-dev (= 2.0.4~) , liblua5.1-0-dev (= 2.0.4~)
for stretch-backports, buster debhelper (>= 9~) , libluajit-5.1-dev (= 2.1.0~) , liblua5.1-0-dev (= 2.1.0~) I've tried 4.1.0 version with stretch-backports Lua and it works fine. Any chance to update the package? Regards, Tomas Barton
