Well, I would say "tolerable" rather than "acceptable" - it is a real annoyance since it will directly remove features now offered in uwsgi. ...which reminds me...: @Alexandre: Make sure to add a NEWS entry warning users of the removal of matheval - ideally enumerating explicitly all uwsgi options which has disappeared and may silently wreak havoc on local systems.
