Hi, just as some additional info: Same problem appears on my linux-image-2.6.16-1-686 with kernel 2.6.16-12 installed: ~ # modprobe nvidia FATAL: Error inserting nvidia (/lib/modules/2.6.16-1-686/nvidia/nvidia.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg) ~ # dmesg .... nvidia: Unknown symbol register_chrdev nvidia: disagrees about version of symbol register_chrdev nvidia: Unknown symbol register_chrdev With 2.6.16-11 everything worked as expected.
