Dear Maintainer, With transition to PROJ 6 pyproj was updated to 2.x which no longer provides the pyproj_datadir attribute. This is fixed upstream in 1.2.1 via #454: https://github.com/matplotlib/basemap/commit/fa8fc4f91f6ba81d87443b09632b691f2e32e576 Kind Regards, Bas
