Package: udev
Version: 0.090-2
Severity: grave

When upgrading the udev package from 0.089-1 to 0.090-2 using 'apt-get
upgrade' from the latest debian unstable, the package upgrade fails with the
following error:

Preparing to replace udev 0.089-1 (using .../udev_0.090-2_amd64.deb) ...
/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/preinst: line 89: /lib/udev/write_net_rules: No such file
or directory
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/udev_0.090-2_amd64.deb
(--unpack):
subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/udev_0.090-2_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

This has happened on two different x86-64 based machines, on my own machine
(Athlon 64 3500+, 2.6.16 vanilla kernel) as an upgrade to 0.089-1 and as a new
install from the Debian Installer netinst CD (beta 2) on an Intel P4 3GHz
(EM64T) machine, running Debian kernel 2.6.15-1-amd64-generic.

This has been fixed two releases ago.
Do not bother using unstable if you cannot keep up with changes.
