Never, I am afraid. The standalone snapshots are broken in one or the
other way when building against 2.6.16 (yes, also newer snapshots...)
that the only thing would be to use the kernel patches and use
them to build the module(s). Since those bring the kern el back to
some other state though I am not sure about compatibility and
currently don't have time to investigate anyway.

And as 2.6.17 will include both bcm43xx and softmac, I gave up and
will request removal when/to 2.6.17 is ready to go into testing
(or earlier, but because of the testing script too intelligent this
would also remove them from testing...

Welcome in sid ;-) If you need bcm43xx modules either use testing or use
2.6.15 from testing or build your only kernel with the patches
(outdated) or with 2.6.17-rX (what I do currently).
