Indeed, it would be unfortunate to not have 3.1 in buster.
Current 2.12 in buster is quite buggy, I didn't realize how buggy it really
is.. :(
To me the main priority was to let 3.1 into buster as fast as possible.
You could either close the bug if you are sure it will not cause an issue on
upgrade, or maybe ask the release team?
I'll downgrade the severity of it for now, since the main
part is fixed by the last upload anyway.
