It is still a problem with opensc/0.16.0-3+deb9u1 as currently available from stretch. Backporting opensc/0.19.0-1 for stretch is trivial and has resolved the problem for me and my colleagues. I suggest fixing the problem in stretch via an update to 0.19 as suggested by Adam D. Barratt in #913674. Cheers, -Hilko
