Indeed, it was in the "else" part of ifeq
($(DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE),$(DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE)), so, it only mattered when
they were not the same.
The bug was a very simple and usual Makefile bug, that even "vim"
highlights. I'm not sure if the severity was ok, but since it was that
simple I figured no harm would be done by the NMU.
