I'm quite puzzled by this bug. As I understand it the program "update-texmf" is provided by tex-common nowadays whereas it was provided by "tetex-bin" for the version you have. In either case, the file "/etc/texmf/texmf.d/05TeXMF.cnf" should have been installed by one or the other of these packages (in your case "tetex-bin") *before* update-texmf was invoked by the "tex4ht-common" installation. > Versions of packages tex4ht-common depends on: > ii tetex-bin 2.0.2-31 The teTeX binary files Checking your specific bug report is made additionally difficult by the fact that this version of tetex-bin is no longer on the archive.
