Package: libgrpc-dev Version: 1.12.0-1 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from 'sid' to 'experimental'. It installed fine in 'sid', then the upgrade to 'experimental' fails because it tries to overwrite other packages files. >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): Selecting previously unselected package libgrpc-dev:amd64. Preparing to unpack .../7-libgrpc-dev_1.12.0-1_amd64.deb ... Unpacking libgrpc-dev:amd64 (1.12.0-1) ... dpkg: error processing archive /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-wuGieo/7-libgrpc-dev_1.12.0-1_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgpr.a', which is also in package libgpr1-dev 2017-6 dpkg-deb: error: paste subprocess was killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-wuGieo/7-libgrpc-dev_1.12.0-1_amd64.deb Is this a typo in libgrpc to ship libgpr files? Since these appear to be unrelated libraries, Conflicts/Breaks/Replaces is *NOT* a solution for this conflict. cheers, Andreas
