After installing python3-bayespy importing the module bayespy into a python interpreter fails with the following error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 1, in <module> File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/bayespy/__init__.py", line 8, in <module> from . import inference File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/bayespy/inference/__init__.py", line 34, in <module> from .vmp.vmp import VB File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/bayespy/inference/vmp/vmp.py", line 9, in <module> import matplotlib.pyplot as plt File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/matplotlib/pyplot.py", line 115, in <module> _backend_mod, new_figure_manager, draw_if_interactive, _show = pylab_setup() File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/matplotlib/backends/__init__.py", line 62, in pylab_setup [backend_name], 0) File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/matplotlib/backends/backend_tkagg.py", line 4, in <module> from . import tkagg # Paint image to Tk photo blitter extension. Often times that manifests as an ImportError or ModuleNotFoundError. Typically, dependencies should be inserted by dh-python via ${python:Depends} or ${python3:Depends}. Thus a missing dependency can be caused by incomplete install_requires in setup.py. Sometimes a missing dependency of a dependency is the cause, in such cases this bug should be reassigned. Helmut
