Package: fglrx-driver Version: 8.23.7-1 Severity: serious Justification: Policy 6.1
When upgrading from 8.21.7-1, fglrx-driver does not handle diversion properly. The maintainer scripts fail (so the serious severity). The error I got is (in french): Dépaquetage de la mise à jour de fglrx-driver ... dpkg : erreur de traitement de /var/cache/apt/archives/fglrx-driver_8.23.7-1_i386.deb (--unpack) : tentative de remplacement de « /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1 », qui appartient aussi au paquet xlibmesa-gl I do not recall the exact message in an english (or C) locale, but it should be something similar to the title of this bug. For users experimenting this bug, a workaround is to remove the package and reinstall it after : dpkg --purge --force-depends fglrx-driver apt-get install fglrx-driver It worked for me.
