Gianfranco has built it successfully multiple times on the porterbox. Based on that, our best guess so far is this relates to the kernel version; apparently the buildds have already been upgraded to stretch. Hopefully porterboxes start to follow soon, otherwise I'm not sure how to go about debugging this. Qemu, I suppose.
