Package: openjdk-8-jdk Version: 8u131-b11-1~bpo8+1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
I was looking for a jdk to install, so I picked the latest jdk. msoulier@cappuccino:~$ sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jdk Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: openjdk-8-jdk : Depends: openjdk-8-jre (= 8u131-b11-1~bpo8+1) but it is not going to be installed Depends: openjdk-8-jdk-headless (= 8u131-b11-1~bpo8+1) but it is not going to be installed so I can't install it, and it is not clear how I might install it beyond not using the debian packages. msoulier@cappuccino:~$ sudo cat /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free deb-src http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free # jessie-updates, previously known as 'volatile' deb http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free # jessie backports deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian jessie-backports main -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.8 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)
