I think Jörg Frings-Fürst has analyzed and fixed this bug already - he provided me test packages (libsane_1.0.25-4~test1_amd64.deb etc.) offline for testing and they seemed to fix the issue. I'm currently away from my machines, but next week I'll recheck the situation again with up-to-date Debian testing, If the problem is still present I will provide the full backtrace etc. Thanks, A.
