Hi,

The upstream status is not super clear to me, so I'll try to sum it
up:

 * On 2017-01-28 the bug was closed as "All files now fail gracefully
   rather than crashing".

 * Then new crash reproducers were added.

 * On 2017-02-09 the bug was closed again, as "all files now unpack
   and fail without crashes, even with ASan".

 * Since then, Lionel Debroux has been trying to confirm that on
   Linux, but ran into issues as some recent upstream change makes the
   package FTBFS.

So, my understanding is that there are fixes available upstream for at
least a subset of the issues this bug report is about, but they're not
part of any upstream release, might not fix all crashes, and might
cause a FTBFS.

Cheers,
