Understood. I only ever had my "upstream author" hat on here--I didn't think of the situation where we once may have gsl-config [at compile time] but not later [at run-time] even though that is of course very standard for a Debian package. I'll accomodate that but it may take a moment [ie weeks] to materialize as an upstream fix.
