I cannot confirm this. On my testing system I removed auto from CDDEV
and set it to hda (my cd drive), but no change at all.

I try, but with text scrolling fast in front of you and no chance to
save it I can only give the last lines on the screen during boot. This
is not full quoting , as I cannot write fast enough.

It starts with:

Warning: could not open
/lib/modules/2.6.12-1-386/kernel/drivers/usb/usbcore.ko ; no such file
or directory

Then some lines beginning with:
uhci_hcd ...
[...]
Fatal: Error inserting uhci_hcd; unkown symbol in module or unknown
parameter

The following lines are the last lines displayed:
bootcdproberoot: will do usbwait
bootcdproberoot: waiting for usb1
[... counting to 20 ...]
bootcdproberoot: waiting for usb20
pivot_root: No such file or directory
/sbin/init: 432: cannot open dev/console: No such file
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

That's it. All problems seem to start with the missing usbcore.ko module.

Regards
Marc
