I wonder why you don't package the latest release (8.22.5 as of now). It is compatible with both the kernel 2.6.15 (but, unfortunately, not with 2.6.16-rc) and Xorg 6.9/7.0 (the required files are only in the ATI installer, --extract and you will see). Noone knows when ATI will put Xorg 6.9 drivers in the separate rpm, so sooner or later you will have to move away from rpms in tarball approach anyway. Damn, those corps are so slow.
