With the recent grub update on sid I'm getting back this issue:

Installing for x86_64-efi platform.
Could not prepare Boot variable: No space left on device
Installation finished. No error reported.
Generating grub configuration file ...

Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-4.8.0-1-amd64
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-4.8.0-1-amd64
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-4.7.0-1-amd64
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-4.7.0-1-amd64
Adding boot menu entry for EFI firmware configuration
done
Setting up grub-efi (2.02~beta3-3) ...

Now I don't dare to reboot my system: any way to fix this, or at least
to check before rebooting?
