No, they cannot downgrade Sylpheed to a pre +b1 without downgrading libetpan too: AFAIK previous version needs libetpan3, not 6. The problem seems to be present only in +b1, which is the one built against the newer (0.42) libetpan6. It's clear to me that the ABI change in libetpan breaks what Sylpheed 1.9.100 expects, hence the error. Anyway 2.0.0 is in NEW, built and working against the newer libetpan, is just matter of time to get this solved.
