This seems related to #797386, which I fixed in 1.1-7 by adjusting the test. See patch 51-sigpipe-test.diff. I'm certain this is irrelevant from a security perspective, as the binaries remain the same with or without the patch. However, I'm not sure how to proceed with this bug, either.
